It is important to maintain your computer so that it doesn’t break down during a critical part of the semester. Below are a list of steps that you can take to make sure that your computer is in pristine condition all year round.

Basic Troubleshooting Steps
Knowing how to fix simple issues could save you from needing to deal with big issues. Please take a look at our section of self-help tutorials. This section will also help you identify useful information for the technician should you need their assistance to resolve the issue.
Know Your Warranty Status
The Office of Information Technology will service any UNR-owned computer. However if your computer is no longer under warranty, we will be limited on the services we can provide. Knowing how long your computer is under warranty could mean the difference between free support, or a sizable bill for new parts.
Additionally, the warranty can inform you if your computer is owned by UNR.
Backup Your Data
Nothing feels worse than losing important data. Nothing. Our self-help section on backing-up data will help ensure that you’re not fulling-relying on a single hard drive to keep your information safe and secure.
