A number of applications used at the University (including Advantage, Nolij, FootPrints, and WebCampus) rely on Java to provide their services. The campus approved version of Java can be installed from the Software Center, and doesn't require Administrative Privileges.
Below are the steps to make sure that Java has not been disabled in Internet Explorer, as well as the troubleshooting steps you should take to ensure your applications run smoothly.
The campus approved version of Java is not compatible with Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari. As such, OIT recommends that you use Internet Explorer for any web page that requires Java.
